We've come a long way from the Pyrenees through Navarre, over 100 miles now. Today promised to be tough, the longest walk of our journey so far at 17.1 miles. We were fortunate to have overcast skies and a strong breeze with us all day. (I may have mentioned, the afternoon Spanish sun is not our friend.) The countryside of wheat fields, vineyards, mustard and poppies remained beautiful but we're ready for a change.

We had a nice morning walk to Sansol with Jenny from Edmonds-Woodway High School. Then lunch with Mrs. Padrón (named for the Spanish pepper), a retired HR Director for Hilton Hotels in Seattle.

Towards the end of the day wheat fields retreated to vineyards and olive orchards. We're in La Rioja. I've been to Logrono before, and through the Rioja wine region, it's so good to be back.

Time for some Gran Reserva. Buen Camino.

Voyager, c’est aller de soi à soi en passant par les autres
