Today was a planned half day, a short 7.8 mile walk, and short update. When Ben finished his semester in Lyon early, he bought us a few days to spend when we need them. We cut the itinerary in half today to recuperate, do laundry, and we both have activities and meetings to attend to back home.
I also needed to attend to this aching tooth. Some day Ben and I will have a list of advice to give to Camino walkers, and near the top of mine will be "don't need a root canal on day five". I've been in an urgent care facility and two dental clinics now, and I think I have a working solution for the remainder of the journey. Two separate and professional clinics in Logrono did full X-Rays, and one a full analysis, prescribed for me what I need, and charged me all of $0. All they asked of me was to have a "Buen Camino".
After that we got a really late start on our half day walk. This is the second large city we have passed through, and it's really strange entering and leaving. We've decided it's kind of like hiking through Federal Way or Renton. It was nice to put that behind us today, return to the countryside, so we can start in the fields tomorrow.
Take good care of your teeth. Buen Camino.

Hopefully the worst of the past 2 days is behind you and you're able to power forward without pain in your tooth...or your feet.
Hiking through a town like Federal Way doesn't sound like fun. I have to say the photos you chose to share are beautiful, as always. The Iglesia Nuestra Senora de la Asuncion is much more unassuming on the outside compared to the opulence on the inside. The countryside photo with the vineyards, barn/house is stunning.
